We believe that the strength of music lies in breaking down walls between people. Our educational offerings create a safe space that allows students to achieve not only higher levels of music making but also presence and openness with themselves, their peers, and the world around them.
Chamber Music Live:
A forward-thinking platform that enables a wide range of virtual community engagement and educational content. In collaboration with the Pacifica Quartet, and future collaborations with the greater Jacobs School community, the grant funds technology for real-time, high-quality streaming with state-of-the-art visuals and audio for performances, all while remaining interactive. The Balourdet and Pacifica will use this technology to broadcast to a variety of schools in the greater Indiana area and beyond, as well as curate educational content for CelloBello’s new online chamber music platform.
Eventually, the Balourdet Quartet plans to include Jacobs School of Music student musicians as well, providing them a greater range of meaningful performance opportunities, and expanding Chamber Music Live’s reach to audiences worldwide. This project is made possible by Indiana University’s Innovation Grant from IU Office of Entrepreneurship & Career Development (OECD) in collaboration with the Pacifica Quartet.
As touring artists, we strive to empower and inspire the communities and schools that we engage with. We have reached over 4000 students and 50 communities of all ages through workshops, masterclasses, lessons, and more. Our belief in a creative approach to sharing music and mentorship outside of the traditional concert venue by opening up conversations about life as a string quartet, the joy of communication in music, and entrepreneurship as artist citizens in the 21st century, inspiring the future generation of artists.
